Our Engagement Story

I'm engaged to Ryan James Murphy! It all happened on Saturday, February 10th around 10pm. Our evening began with dinner at The Cannery, a fancy seafood restaurant located on the waterfront. I suspected something might have been up, so I spent the first half of the evening waiting for something to happen. Then I finally realized that Ry wouldn't propose to me in such a public place, so I got disappointed. Silly me! We finished our lovely dinner, got in the car and Ry said there was a slight change in plans - we weren't going home just yet. He then asked me to navigate him to an address he'd scribbled on a piece of paper (he's still not very good with directions!). He'd booked a room at a hotel downtown. We got up to the room and then he said he wanted to give me my Valentine's Day project (every year we do something different). I sat down and he handed me a book he'd made. As you know, I love the feel of soft things, so he put together a book full of different textures. The first page said "Dear Sydelle, You arouse all of my senses" and was followed by page after page of soft and silky fabrics. On the last page was written "Love is the poetry of the senses" and beneath it was a sparkling diamond ring. So sweet! He got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and I think I said yes - I was blubbering a bit! We jumped up and down in our excitement and opened a bottle of champagne. Yeah!! Yippee!! Now we're on cloud nine and can’t wait for you to join us at our wedding.
